Beginning Yoga
If you have never taken a yoga class or if you have limitations due to injuries, this class is a great place to begin. You will receive detailed instructions on basic principles and learn the essential yoga postures. The pace is moderate, allowing for time to experience your relationship to each pose. This class is also appropriate for Seniors.

Gentle
Class that is modified to accommodate students with injuries or limited mobility, flexibility, strength, energy and those new to exercise.

Gentle Therapeutic Yoga
A calming and therapeutic class introducing postures and breathing techniques to stretch and strengthen gradually. This class is good for those new to exercise or with special concerns and injuries..

Svaroopa Yoga (emphasis on inner Experience)
Developed by Rama Berch, Svaroopa Yoga teaches significantly different ways of doing familiar poses, emphasizing the opening of the spine by beginning at the tailbone and progressing through each spinal area. Every pose emphasizes the development of transcendental inner experience, which is called svroopa. This is a yoga that also promotes healing and transformation. Svaroopa is not an athletic endeavor, but a development of consciousness using the body as a tool.

Mixed Levels
Classes are designed to challenge intermediate students and beginners varying in degree of difficulty depending on the style of yoga being taught.

Hatha
This moderately paced class gives you more detailed instruction on pacing, alignment and breathing. It also introduces basic sun salutations, forward and back bends and inversions when appropriate.

Restoratives
Designed to refresh and renew. Taught in the Iyengar style using props, bolsters, blankets, etc. Poses are held for at least five minutes in order to obtain maximum benefit. Restoratives offer an opportunity to be still. We recommend them anytime but specifically when one feels exhausted, is prone to headaches, has insomnia or has breathing problems.

Flow
This style of yoga is very vigorous and links poses through sun salutations in a flowing sequence called "vinyasa". Designed for those in good physical condition with three to six months of consistent practice and basic knowledge of the asanas (poses). Through concentration and connecting breath, body & motion in a meditative way it develops strength, energy and peace of mind.

Intense Beginners
This is a Flow class (see above), more intense than a basic class but not as intense as an intermediate or advanced level class.

Iyengar
Named after its founder, BKS Iyengar, and taught by a teacher trained at his schools. This style focuses on proper body alignment, the holding and repeating of poses while paying attention to the details, developing better understanding and building strength through consistency. Props such as blankets, blocks and straps are commonly used to enhance your awareness.

Kundalini
This style concentrates on awakening the energy at the base of the spine and drawing it upwards. In addition to the postures, a typical class will also include chanting, meditation and breathing exercises.
